The Dermamelan treatment is the treatment for the removal of pigmentation spots on all skin types. Both discolorations on light and dark skin can be remedied with this depigmentation treatment. Hyperpigmentation is a common problem and is caused by various factors such as hormone imbalance, skin aging, pregnancy, pill use, menopause and sun damage. Dermamelan has been specially developed for melasma, which is often difficult to treat, or mask of pregnancy. The Dermamelan treatment is 30% stronger than a Cosmelan treatment and may only be performed by registered skin therapists and doctors. Treatment Dermamelan
It is often necessary to first prepare your skin for the Dermamelan treatment with a peeling. A week after this peeling, the treatment with the Dermamelan mask follows. This is a gold-colored mask that has 6 to 12 hours of exposure. After the elapsed time, the mask is removed at home. After about 2 weeks, the skin is fully recovered. This is followed by the home treatment of 3-6 months using home products that address deeper pigment. Every 8 weeks we schedule a check-up with you to evaluate the process.
After the treatment
The skin may be red, itchy and burning for the first two days. This is a normal reaction and certainly during the first 24-48 hours after the start of the treatment. During the first week, the skin will flake slightly, removing most of the excess pigment. After a week the skin has a nice glow and you start with the package of the home products. The skin may have to get used to this, some redness and flaking may occur again. Depending on the severity of the pigment, the products should be used for 3-6 months for optimal results. The package of the home products contains a cleanser, tonic, Dermamelan depigmentation
cream, Melan recovery cream; a soothing recounting cream and a high UV
protection with a natural touch.
Results
A week after the peeling you will see immediate results! The pigmentation will fade more and more during the use of the home products.
Do's & don'ts
- 4-6 weeks prior to treatment no sun exposure or use of tanning beds
- 1 week prior to the treatment no use of self tanning
- 24 hours after the treatment no sauna, long hot bath or intensive workout
